What we do
Medical billing for consultants, with every invoice followed through.
We set you up with the insurers and hospitals, send every invoice, and follow up the ones that come back until they’re settled.
Billing
We set you up, then bill the insurers and the hospitals.
Getting set up
We register you with the insurers, or move you over from your current firm, and set up billing with each hospital you work in.
The insurers
Vhi, Laya Healthcare, Irish Life Health and Level Health, and specialised insurers such as Garda Medical Aid, Prison Officers Medical Aid and the Department of Defence. We also bill international claims, such as Bupa International and the European Commission, and reconcile every payment against your invoices.
The hospitals and the NTPF
Each private hospital you work in, including inter-hospital billing, and the NTPF.
Your patients
We bill self-pay patients, answer your patients’ billing questions and give them a way to pay online. If a patient queries a bill, it goes on hold until it’s sorted.
The follow-up
Every queried, rejected and underpaid claim, followed up until it’s settled.
Most invoices are paid with the claim. We take the rest up with the hospitals and insurers on your behalf, and if one can’t be recovered, you’ll hear it from us before your accountant.
Claim numbers
We get the missing claim number from the hospital. Our team also goes into hospital finance departments to work through the listings.
Claim forms
When a payment is waiting on a claim form the admitting consultant hasn’t signed, we take it up with the hospital, and your account manager rings you before the money is due.
Length-of-stay letters
We get the letter the insurer needs, working with your secretary if you have one.
Rejected and pended claims
We find out why, and who needs to act, and see it through.
Underpayments
When an insurer pays less than it should, we take it up with them.
Unpaid patient bills
If a patient doesn’t pay, or their insurer rejects the claim and the bill falls to them, we send up to three reminders and ring them. If it’s still unpaid after that, it goes to debt collection.
Because we bill for anaesthetists, radiologists, pathologists, surgeons and physicians across the private hospitals, we can see when an insurer pays one bill on a claim and misses another. If the pathology bill is paid but the anaesthetic bill on the same claim isn’t, we spot it and take it up with the insurer.
“They are particularly effective in pursuing outstanding claims and dealing with insurers, representing my interests assertively and thoroughly whenever difficulties arise.”

Your account manager
Your own account manager, and a team behind them.
Your account manager looks after you from your first invoice and gets to know your accounts inside out. Behind them is a team that deals with the hospitals and insurers every working day, and when you ring the office, it’s answered within a few rings.
Left to get on with it
Some clients would rather hear from us only when there’s something to tell them. Some of our biggest practices rarely log in at all.
Your figures every month
Others go through their figures with their account manager every month. For a group, that’s usually with one spokesperson.
We also bill for groups and departments: anaesthesia groups, radiology departments, and pathology and histology groups. How a group’s income is shared out is up to the group. We can pay it all into one account for you to divide, or split it among the members whatever way you agree, in equal shares or by sessions worked. One account is the simplest.
Your HAS account
Every invoice, on your phone or laptop.
Log in to see what’s been billed and paid, by insurer and by patient, and which invoices are queried or waiting on the hospital. It’s updated as it happens.
Your secretary
Their own login, which doesn’t show what you earn, and the billing taken off their desk.
Your accountant
Their own login, to see what’s been billed, paid and written off, this year and in past years, without having to ask you.
At year end, your accountant gets your F45s in order, copy statements and a detailed debtor report for the billing we’ve done. If Revenue audits you, we can provide the backup. We’ll answer your accountant’s questions about your private practice income, too.
See how it would work for your practice.
Leave your number and we’ll ring you back. Or we’ll come to you, wherever you work, and show you HAS against your own numbers.
